Subject: Keeping Our School Safe and Supportive
I hope you are all doing well. As we continue to adjust to the changes after the prolonged school closures of 2020, I want to take a moment to talk about an important issue: the behavior of our students and the safety of everyone in our school community.
A recent survey by the NASUWT has shown that some teachers are experiencing verbal and physical abuse from students. While these incidents are not common, they are concerning and can affect the positive atmosphere we work hard to create in our school.
At our school, we aim to build a respectful and supportive environment. However, there have been instances where some students have acted inappropriately towards our dedicated teachers and staff. It’s vital that we address these behaviors to ensure a safe space for everyone.
I want to assure you that when I intervene in these situations, my goal is to promote respect and understanding. If your child mentions feeling reprimanded, please know that I strive to communicate firmly and effectively rather than shout. I encourage you to reach out to me directly if you have any questions or concerns, especially if they tell you they have been shouted at.
You can often find me at the school gate in the mornings. If I'm not there, please understand that I will be handling important matters within the school.
Thank you for your continued support in helping us maintain a caring environment for our children and staff. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. Have a wonderful weekend!
