School News March 21st 2025

Dear Parents and Guardians
t has been brilliant seeing all the pictures coming through from London. It looks like our Year 6 pupils are having an absolutely brilliant time. I have been keeping in touch with the staff all week and I know the children have been impeccably well behaved. They have even had a debate in the houses of Parliament using their amazing oracy skills.
Still having a few issues in the boys toilets so please see later in the newsletter to see the steps we are taking to try to make this a safer space for children to use.
While we didn’t do anything for Comic Relief this week we will be doing a fundraiser next week for a charity quite close to my heart. So please have a look later in the newsletter for this.
I have had a number of calls this week about the misuse of social media. Again, I have a piece in the newsletter about this and the legal age children should have certain social media applications.
Incidents of discriminatory language against protected characteristics are, thankfully, extremely rare. However, when they do occur I am duty bound to report it to the local authority. Any type of discrimination will be dealt with severely.
It was nice to see the sun out this week with a nice spring feeling in the air. If it does turn cold again, though, please do ensure your child comes to school with the appropriate clothing.
